Orlando Florida Theme Parks

I remember as a child my dad jokingly saying “… and I have a piece of property in Orlando for sale!” We all laughed knowing that the property was all swamp land and no one even wanted this land.Except for a very cleaver imagineer named Walt Disney.

In 1964, Mr. Disney began purchasing large quantities of this wasteland around Central Florida and people were happy to sell the original 25,000 acres dirt cheap!

In 1965, Walt Disney announced his plans to construct the world’s most magical theme park and in 1971 five years after Mr. Disney’s death Disney’s Magic Kingdom opened.

Walt Disney World transformed this orange growing, alligator swimming swamp land into one of the world’s greatest vacation destinations.

Magic Kingdom ®

I grew up near Disney and I have been to the Magic Kingdom and all of the other resorts so many times it is impossible to try to count. I have learned the ins and outs of getting around and spending my money wisely.

I have to say as there is nothing like taking a child for the first time and seeing the Magic Kingdom through their eyes. It truly is a Magical experience! I do believe this is what Mr. Disney had in mind when he designed this magical land.

With the huge success of Disney’s Magic Kingdom many other theme parks were born. These great theme parks made it more difficult to determine where to split the family vacation time and money.

Orlando vacations began to get more and more popular especially with the addition of other Florida theme parks such as Epcot ,

Epcot ®

Can’t travel around the world in one day? You can at Epcot!

Walk around the world, the showcase of countries takes you on a mini vacation to different cultures and countries, including Mexico, Norway, China, Germany, Italy, Japan, Morocco, France, United Kingdom and Canada. Of course, there's also the U.S.A. Pavilion where you'll enjoy a patriotic American Adventure show.

Hollywood Studios ®

With the explosion of growth in the 1980’s came what was then called MGM Studios now known as Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Hollywood Studios take you on a journey back to old Hollywood with a splash of great shows and most of all great rides.

This by far is my favorite theme park to visit. My older kids love the rides and shows. This is a great alternative from singing It’s a Small World and standing in lines to get character autographs.

Animal Kingdom ®

Animal Kingdom is more than a zoo it is a safari expedition, fantastic landscapes, thrilling attractions, amazing live shows and one of the greatest roller coaster experiences.

Animal Kingdom has matured in the past ten years and with this the park is now a spectacular experience. When first opened there were not as many animals and the rides were not as exciting as the other parks. As the park has grown it has developed into a great natural experience that the whole family can enjoy.

Sea World ®

Sea World has been always one of our favorite parks. It is a nice break from the Disney experience and Sea World is also one of the more affordable theme parks. A favorite for all ages!

Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure ®

Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure are great parks for the entire family. Island of Adventure has lots more roller coaster and thrill rides while Universal Studios is geared towards younger children and enjoying shows and the making of movies.

Cypress Gardens ®

Cypress Gardens Florida's first theme park was first opened in the 1930's. Recently renovated this park now has many new thrill rides plus the famous water ski shows and Florida Southern Belles that made Cypress Gardens famous so many years ago.

Busch Gardens ®

Busch Gardens a true adventure waiting to happen! Thrill rides, amazing landscapes and animals from all over the word make this attraction my families favorite!

Kennedy Space Center ®

Be inspired by Kennedy Space Center! Amazing experience for all who enjoy space and space exploration.
